Care & Maintenance
Congratulations on the purchase of your copper sink.  Our copper finishes are considered living finishes that change slightly and darken over time.  Other colors may also come about depending on the environment that the copper is exposed to.  Water quality and sunlight are two variables, which can turn your sink blue, green, black or brown.  You may even accumulate calcium deposits if your sink is not maintained.  Hair products and other household chemicals can also discolor your sink.  Copper is a base patina.  It will always be the prominent color of the sink.  Other colors, which may come about over time, will only exist on the surface of the traditional copper patina.  These colors can usually be buffed back with a cloth and applying light pressure.  Then your sink can be waxed again and over time will go back to the intended color.  Copper is a durable but soft metal and can be scratched fairly easily.  Products should be rinsed and then dried after each use and waxed if necessary.  DO NOT ALLOW TOOTHPASTE OR OTHER CHEMICALS TO DRY ON THE SINK.

Do not use any abrasive cleaners, or polishers on the sinks, this will damage the patina finish.  When cleaning use a soft wet rag with a very small amount of mild soap.  After cleaning, rinse, and then dry with a soft dry cloth.  After drying it should be waxed if needed.  We recommend using a little bit of Paste Wax as you are attempting to remove an undesirable stain.  Rinse sink, dry, then wax and buff.  Wax should be allowed time to bond to sink before buffing back.
